UPDATE: XCS Schools & ELCs Open as Normal on Aug. 26, 2024

XCS Families,

We are aware of recent changes to schedules from other area metro schools due to the heatwave. Xavier Catholic Schools facilities (schools and early learning centers) will be open as normal on Monday, Aug. 26, 2024. 

Please know that we do not take this decision lightly and have plans in place to ensure the safety of all students and staff:

• Classroom/early learning spaces are equipped with air conditioning to ensure the environment is adequate for learning/childcare. 
• Students will not be participating in outdoor activities, including but not limited to recess and PE. 
• Pick up procedures will run as efficiently as possible to ensure time outdoors is minimized. 
• Please make sure that students dress accordingly while meeting school dress code. 
• Additionally, it is important that you send a water bottle with your student to stay hydrated. 

Any activities-related schedule changes will be communicated within respective activities groups. 

Should a change need to be made to this plan, we will be sure to communicate promptly.
