The Xavier Catholic Schools Central Office makes all decisions related to unplanned late-starts, early dismissals, or closings due to weather or other circumstances.
COMMUNICATION: Any such decision(s) regarding delays/early-dismissals/closures will be communicated via:
Text Alert*
XCS Social Media (Facebook, Twitter/X, Instagram)
Local news media outlets (schools listed as “Xavier Catholic Schools”)
Complete, system-wide information will also be compiled at https://crxcs.org/alert.
DECISION/TIMING:
To the extent possible, any decisions regarding school closure/delay will be communicated as early as possible (up to and including the day/evening prior to forecasted weather event) to give families as much time as possible to plan accordingly.
SAFETY:
The safety of our students/families is the primary concern when making decisions regarding school closure/delay. Please remember that we will have teenage drivers on the road with limited driving experience.
ACTIVITIES:
Generally, school activities will be cancelled if school is cancelled/released early due to weather. If conditions improve throughout the day, evening activities may practice/compete/perform in the evening upon approval from the XCS Central Office. These schedule changes will then be communicated through the respective activities programs.
Xavier Catholic Schools Preschools/Pre-K programs will follow any decision made related to late-starts or closings.
NOTE: It is possible an “AM” section of Preschool/Pre-K may be closed and the “PM” section remains open.
NOTE: St. Pius X Pre-K will follow any XCS late-start or closing.
